Who We Are
American Council of Teachers Incorporated (ACT Inc.) is a 501 (c)3 non-profit tutoring program designed to provide academic and behavioral support in youth development. Our teachers are the catalyst willing to change and support under-educated and under-estimated students. By using a proactive approach and preventive measures that connect students to relate-able teachers. Our focus is to serve struggling and at-risk students by using our council of 400+ community based teachers to teach and mentor students who are:
Struggling in General Education
Referred to Special Education
Struggling with specific learning disabilities (SLD)
To foster and promote healthy behavior and academic excellence.
Academic Behavior Consequence Model (ABC)
American Council of Teachers (ACT) Inc. uses the ABC (Academic, Behavior and Consequence) model in conjunction with community teachers and certified teachers as our approach to closing the gap between education and action. Through the practice of realizing how our educational experiences impact our actions - we strive to empower our students to better understand the interaction between behavior and academic success.
